BLU SALT's Guide to the 5 minute retreat:

  • Set a timer on your watch for 5 minutes in a quiet, private location
  • Close your eyes 
  • Start with slow, deep breaths - focus your mind on observing your breath. Mentally observe your body breathe
  • Empty your mind - every time you notice your mind wander, become aware of it and focus again on your breath and present state
  • Pay attention to the sounds, smells and sensations around you - be thankful for them
  • Enjoy the respite
